He was one of three children. He married Ida <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Levinson</span> of Brooklyn. Together they lived on <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Cortelyou</span> Road in <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Flatbush</span>.<br /><br />Harry lied about his age to enlist in the US Army in World War I. He loved to show me a hole in his leg where a "German" shot him.
